I’ve dipped my toe into the world of Google Adwords with a campaign for $20 off of a $100 order at Franklin Covey using code 15086. It was much easier than I’d expected, to be honest. Google has a great hand-holding demo which walks you through the whole thing. I’ve set a maximum daily budget of $7, and supposedly I’ll be getting in the top four most of the time on most of the 3 dozen keywords I am using.
The only thing I still find a little confusing is how my CJ affiliate link will track without its little image tracker bug. I’m assuming it will still work even without the bug, since the affiliate information is embedded in the code, but what will the CTR (click-through-rate) appear to be in the CJ reports?
I’m going to chalk this all up to a learning experience. If I make money, I’ll be shocked and happy. Either way I’ll track it here.

CJ only uses that image to track impressions, the clicks are tracked through the link itself so you should be fine. AdWords will tell you your impressions.
Also, SpamKarma is a pretty good anti-spam comment system which may work better than the pseudo-captcha you have now.
Good luck with your first campaign!
