On today’s Prosperity Game, I’m going to have to begin to break out of my normal world a bit.
I’ve just never priced things at this level, even though they are things I’ve wanted for ages. So, I’m going to have to do ballpark expenditures. It is actually quite fun to estimate what I could get for the money, based on internet research.
Day 10 - $14,000
Spending the $14,000 is not hard at all, because I’d just hand it over to my buddy Ed the contractor. He’d work with me to make my dream bridge come true.
You see, my house has a bridge coming from the road to the front door. The road is higher than the house, so the bridge has to step down a bit, then run about 25 feet to the front door.
The current bridge is succumbing to Oregon weather, getting a bit rotten, and needs to be replaced. What I’d love to replace it with is a gorgeous hardwood bridge with a covered roof (but open sides), and a sitting deck area around the front doors.
I could almost sketch this bridge, I see it so clearly. The roofing is a new feature that I decided upon while running through the mental movie of how I’d like it to look. It would really help make the bridge safer, more pleasant, and longer lasting.
