On day three of the prosperity game, I put $3000 into my "dream bank account."
It is a more interesting game than I even realized at first. As I was driving to work this morning, I was thinking about how I "should" be spending the dream money. I think that’s the trap, or anyway a lesson this game is supposed to teach. I’m not supposed to optimize the money stream. If that were the case, I should do my normal rules for windfalls.
Instead, this game is supposed to make me stretch, and think through how I’d love to spend the money. OK then, with that in mind, here’s day 3.
Day 3 - $3000
Again, $0 balance forward. New balance $3000.
- $2000 - on a new front door for my office, a quality new window for the main office window, and on french doors to replace the sliding glass door. I have a friend in the window & door business, so I’d get them from him at a steep discount.
- $1000 - on a professional installation job.
This is my favorite dream purchase yet!
